On September, 2014, EMAP hosted an institutional meeting at the “Food Export Council” (FEC), incorporating “The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries” (CBI), “The Import Promotion Desk” (IPD), “Food Export Council” (FEC) as well as “The Agriculture Export Council” (AEC).

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss more opportunities for collaborations with the national and international potential partners during CBI and IPD mission to Egypt, aiming at supporting the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAP) Sector in Egypt.

EMAP has accompanied the CBI in their visit to 9 small and medium sized essential oils companies and organized meetings with major companies of the sector, aiming for exploring more opportunities, where main sector’s challenges and needed recommendations were highly addressed.

The program aims to provide complete support capabilities for around 10-12 natural ingredients companies, in which priority will be mainly  given to support the mission’s selected companies and sector stakeholders, including the delivery of sustainable services to the program’s stakeholders to ensure the widespread of services and benefits among these companies.

Services and benefits will include export coaching (market access based), market intelligence, strategic conferences and institutional development, in addition to the compliance with international requirements for quality and food safety (awareness and technical assistance).
